Before relying on the result
What does a matching result prove?+
It proves that the exact uploaded file matches the fingerprint recorded when WaChat to PDF issued it. It does not prove that every statement inside the source conversation is true.
Is the uploaded PDF stored?+
The verification endpoint hashes the file for comparison. The product record stores the issuance fingerprint rather than a permanent copy of the document.
Does a non-match mean the document is fake?+
Not necessarily. It may be from another source, changed after download, or predate file-level verification. Use the Export ID fallback where appropriate.
Can someone verify without an account?+
Yes. The verification page and Export ID lookup are public.
What is an RFC 3161 timestamp?+
Where present, it is a cryptographic timestamp issued by an independent timestamp authority and associated with the document.
