A WhatsApp chat is secondary electronic evidence - a copy of data that lives on a phone or server. Indian courts do not treat it as automatically admissible. It has to be authenticated by the statutory certificate under Section 63 of the BSA, 2023 (formerly Section 65B of the Evidence Act).
Get that certificate wrong - or omit it - and the chat can be excluded outright, no matter how decisive its contents. In Arjun Panditrao Khotkar (2020), the Supreme Court settled years of conflicting rulings by holding the certificate to be a mandatory condition precedent to admissibility.

Why does the tool add a certificate, not just a PDF?expand_more
Because Indian courts generally will not act on a WhatsApp chat unless a certificate accompanies it, this tool attaches the Section 63(4) BSA certificate to the exhibit automatically - so what you download is already in the form a court expects, rather than a bare PDF you would still have to certify separately before filing.

Yes. Every certificate carries a SHA-256 hash computed over the canonical content of your record. It is deterministic and reproducible: the same chat always yields the same hash, and any alteration produces a different value, so anyone can independently recompute it from the same export to test tamper-integrity.
What do I have to fill in myself?expand_more
Almost nothing. We pre-fill everything technical - the record particulars, counts, date range and the SHA-256 hash in Part B. You optionally enter the declarant name and device so Part A is pre-filled; the personal declaration and signature fields print as blank lines for you to complete and sign. For a personal chat, that signer is normally the phone's owner.
Do I still need a lawyer?expand_more
The certificate is generated in the format contemplated by Section 63(4) BSA and is ready to complete and sign, but it is a self-service template and not legal advice. You should have your advocate review it and, where the facts or your court require, attest or adapt it before filing.
Is my chat private? Does it get uploaded?expand_more
Producing the certificate and the rendered PDF happens on our server, where files are encrypted at rest and automatically deleted after 24 hours. Nothing is published, and the content hash is computed so it can be independently reproduced from the same chat.
